[attachment=88543:IMG_0090.JPG]Hey friends, I?ve owned my 535xi for about two months now and love it. My wife can't figure out why I'm going to take a perfectly good car and make a bunch of modifications to it, but I've already committed the purchase order. I'll detail all the upgrades in the Modification section of the board. In the mean time, I thought I would share some photos highlighting why lowering my car is not an option. Not only is lowering not an option, but I will have to engineer the Hamman front splitter so I can remove it every winter. This year (so far) we have had a record of 61.5" of snowfall in Spokane for the month of December. We still have 2.5 months of winter remaining! Spokane isn't like Denver, once the snowfall hits, it accumulates, turns to rough hard-packed ice on the roads, and doesn't go away until March. Some of the roads have 4"-5" grooves. Treacherous!

The pictures happen to be the nicely plowed roads around my neighborhood. Notice that it's now only one lane... The plows haven't had the muscle to move outward. It sucks if someone is coming the other way. Yes, I came to a complete stop and took the picture with my iPhone. Afterwards though, I launched the vehicle to 60mph, and then took 1/4 mile (exaggerating) to stop on the stock Goodyear RSA's! Yes, I need to get some Blizzak or Michelin X-Ice winter tires.

Reminds me why my idea of the ideal winter sport is a beach in the Caribbean!

That is the joy of living in Denver.....we like to keep our snow in the mountains , and on the occasions that is does snow down here in the foothills you can believe it will be sunny and gone in the city in a day or two! I love the snow too, but not to the extent as Spokane or the northeast where the snow sits on the ground for weeks or even months...screw that!

Come East anytime, all the snow and freezing temps you want. I hate it now. Car is always dirty, traffic is a gridlock mess everytime it snows. If you are not home when the storm hits you're screwed... it will take you hours to get anywhere... and hopefully an idiot who doesn't have snow tires and is talking on their cell phone won't crash into your car.... It sucks...

You got some snow hey!
We are still waiting the most of it. And when it comes, it will stay on ground till May.

I used to have a non-sport suspension. And for same reasons I thought the lowering for ages. Well, at last I decided to go for it. I chose KW Street Comfort, and lowered just an inch for now. Now problems in snow .

If you want to give it a thought after all, you should consider KW Variant 3, which is available for X models too. That way you'd have an option to lower the car for summer and lift it for winters. Ha?

And to you others, what comes to this lovely snow thing, I'm about to post SOME MORE PICS! Ha ha ha! I said I'm going to haunt you...
