All of our guesses and its a female that has the answers......

BTW, I bet BMW reserves quad tips for ///M models. Just like they reserve round mirrors and side vents for the ///Ms.
You have to get something special for all of that extra $$$.

BTW, look at the Maxima quads and others. They have skinny little pipes inside the chrome outer ones.

The 550i's single pipe and dual tips probably flows more than the Maxima quads.

The M5 has 4 huge open tips. Big difference in flow.

Well from the F10 spy pics, looks like the new 550i will have dual exhaust on each side.

535i exhaust is a full primary cat-back system.

* it's a true dual system with two separate exhaust systems per turbo. This GT system eliminates the 535i's secondary catalytic convertors.
* 4000rpm.
* Dyno testing yielded a 10whp gain and over 20wtq over the stock exhaust
* made of high quality T-304 stainless steel
* RPi's standard Limited Lifetime Warranty
* 100% made in the USA.

NEW RELEASE - 550 exhaust - COMING August 17th!!!
We wait for RPI to do a quad set up for the 5 series that gain power!

We get a great deal of inquiries for the 550
and
we are very excited to be able to support the demand for them.

The retail is $965, but if you get on the group rate listed on E60.net, it's only $899.

For years all BMW's had dual exhaust though they ran side by side so you never knew - that and the mufflers would be dual inlet/outlet.

I think it's just the thing on a 5 series to have standard cars with single and the M5 with dual. I remember when the Maxima first did quad and I thought it was the biggest M5 ripoff I was so upset! Oh well, BMW can do their own thing.

It was a design decision I bet. It just makes the M5 THAT much more exclusive.

For the 535 it's single-sided w/ dual piping and dual tips.

The NEW 550 is a single axel back.
The RPI Gt Race Exhaust has dual piping from the down pipes, dual mufflers and dual tips.
