Why doesn't this button "work"

Well... Unless BMW lost control of their costs or started a marketing offensive towards polar explorers, they didn't offer the FUELED heater (either diesel or petrol) as standard on any vehicle.
It might have been part of some package - sure - but never standard on any car (!).
I remember we had the heater retrofitted to our 99 528i and ordered it from factory on our 02 535i man, and we surely paid for it. Although seat heating is standard in Norway, a separate Webasto has never been

Standard on UK 530 diesels and diesel X5 at the very least (not available here on petrols to my knowledge) but the auto-start function was not available in the computer. It only started when the car did.
The remote kit is not sold here officially, but enterprising individuals have managed to get hold of them and there are a number of retrofits around now.
With the price of cars in Norway I would have thought you would have the kitchen sink included.

Iceman's got it? Where is he when you need him?
And it's not standard on any E60 like it was on the E39. On the E39 you just needed to enable it...
On the E60 I don't know if it is standard in some countries...
I know it's n/a in the USA.

How much does it cost in Germany iceman, any idea?
One thing I have noticed, although my 535d has no temperature gauge, the heater kicks in very quickly. Whatever they have done to eliminate the webasto seems to work.

He's talking about the pre-heater, not the REST button.
Oh. thanks.
