With just over 5k miles on the ticker, I can still smell a distinct smell from the engine after running the car in the higher RPM range (between 5 and 6k rpms) - its rather similar to the same smell I noticed during the break in period. Is that just the way the engines smell in this car or what?

All thoughts appreciated....

 

Yeah mine kinda smells too after running it hard on the express way... So hopefully its not a problem..

 

That there, folks is the smell of POWER!!!

 

I believe it's the smell coming off a combination of brakes, oil and all the guff that settles into the crevices in the engine bay being heated up real good when you drive hard. I drove over/through the St. Gotthard Pass in Switzerland at the weekend and there was a distinct smell too, after having hauled the car up to 6,000 or so feet over some very tight and steep mountain roads.

I get the Brake pads smell which I love.

 

I smell too after running hard.
