Why did you buy a BMW 5er?

Well, my parents got it for me, but aside from that, our whole family has been a Lexus family, about 15 years strong now, and they were giving me a choice and I wanted something different. At first, the $70k 550 sounded awesome and whatnot, but eventually a friend talked me down from it, saying the boost over a 535 was not worth the extra 5k or so extra. Then I started looking at competitors for the 535 by class, and it came up with the XF, the M45, the GS, and the E-class. Neither looked as good, and the idea of telling someone you had two turbos plopped inside sounded cool. People to this day still get shocked when I tell them about the TT inside. I guess they're expecting it to be something of a Supra, but clearly that isn't the case. Still, I'm glad I got the 535, because within the range I was given, and even in the next price range, it was a much better buy than the others.
There really are only two cars I would rather have, tone of them being another BMW. An M5, preferably an E39, which I think is the best looking 5er, if not, the E60 M5. The second would have to be an F430. I think it's safe to say, those two would also be the two cars better than their E60 that they too would want.

i have a pasion for BMWs.... initially went to buy a 3er but with the LCI coming out in 7 months (at the time) and all the accessories i wanted, it only made more sense to get the e60....
had to do a lot to convince the wife of getting a 3er instead of the MB C-class she wanted!
