yeah baby yeah

I got me a 5er, bc it was my first BMW and I didn't wanna get the 3, bc the 335 coupe was still too much at the time and the 535 didn't even come out yet (I think). So I figured I'd get the 530 and drive it for a few years, get the hang of having a Bimmer and later upgrade to some other Bimmer.

But why did I get a BMW? That's easy! What Stylezzza said, and then some

I'd like to add that lately, I notice people staring at my car. That's always nice. It happens when I am driving and when it's parked, I notice people noticing it. Maybe its because it is finally clean!

Wanted to / needed to replace my 740i.

Didn't like the look of current crop of 7 series, nor was I convinced that that car's reliability had improved. The 3 series are super and it was very appealing. But, for me, moving down in size to that model was too severe ... soooo the logical middle ground was the e60 Sedan.

Happy with my decision. But, next time ... that 2dr 335 looks pretty nice!

A Vagina Magnet?

I know there are a lot of women owners/drivers on this board. Need to reword this as 'Vagina/Dick Magnet'. Equal Opportunity

Purely impulse. I had already sold one of the cars and was looking for a CPO 3-series. Couldn't find one quickly enough and I was tired of burdening my co-worker for a ride to work, so one day I saw the 5 just sitting there all beautiful and shiny and took the plunge. Definitely a beautiful ride but not as taut as a 3er. Still on the fence if its replacement is going to be another 5er or a 3er. Might just do one 5er and one 3er so I can get the best of both worlds, like I'm doing now....

Purely impulse for me too! I wanted a Jaguar S type diesel (I like that slightly 'retro' look) but they were far too expensive at the time and the X308 diesel was still a new car! So one day when passing a BMW dealership I stopped by and saw what I have now a 530d. I purchased it without even taking it for a test drive.....BIG mistake that! However all finally got sorted.

It was total impulse buy for me as well. I remember it very well because I had an Infiniti I30 that I drove to about 100k miles and loved it, very reliable. However, I just dropped about 900 into it for maintenance, etc. and started looking online at used cars and could not believe the value factor in buying a used 5er. I really was blown away at the thought that I could own a 5 series BMW for a damn good price! The CPO thing sold me. Anyways, later that afternoon it was mine. I've been an avid fan of Bimmers ever since.
