It's called supply and demand. I like my Titan Silver.
In Australia colours other than black, white and the silvers are offered but rarely seen on the road. With the e39, Oxford Green was always heavily discounted and usually used as the demo, so BMWA stopped importing them. I am told that Browns are popular in other markets but here the colour is abhorred by all manufacturers.

Colour 'rules' driver behaviour - White = 'agressive' according to the article! (IMO the e60 appeals in White, I guess I'm must be agressive then?)

Unfortunately, supply and demand does rule.
If more than 1% of the population would order the funkadelic purple car, they would produce it.
Unfortunately, to offer the funkadelic purple version, they usually need to cancel out another color. They do not like to do that.
Most car makers will create one or two choices that are unique, but that is it. Instead, BMW offers few choices (I never understood why they offer both metallic black and jet black).

Man....whatever you get..do not get space gray. My 08 is space gray and to be honest, every other e60 I see either on the highway or in the town I live, is space gray. The other day ...3 e60s were at the lights..and guess what? all space gray.
I went to visit my mom...and there were two e60's in the neighbor? you guessed: space gray!
Too bad i did not go with the new bronze color. Hardly i see that one any where

I suppose I'm a purist, I've driven black cars for 25 years now. Most recently a 1995 E36 M3 in Cosmos Black, my current 2005 E60 545i in Sapphire Black and my new 2008 E70 X5 also in Sapphire Black, I just think there is nothing more beautiful than a freshly washed black car
......for the 5 minutes that it is actually , completely clean.
So I'm by default, in agreement about Silver/ Gray and their derivatives, I find them boring for the most part. My In-Laws are notorious for their Silver cars, 7 series and Navigators and the cars are very nice, but they lack that certain "ooomph" if you will.

I am back to colors again. Just wondering how many of you have owned a series of BMWs all with the same above mentioned colors. In the new 550i alone, 4 out of the 11 available colors are some derivative of silver or gray. Personally, I have owned an Arctic Silver 328i convertible, a Titanium Silver M3 convertible and a Silver Gray 550i. Why do they do this?? Why not a couple of red or burgundy based colors?? The red on the new M5 is, IMO, by far the definitive color. Recently I have seen a few Lexus' and a Maserati Quattroporte in burgundy and the color was gorgeous. The E60 would also look incredible in a deep chestnut brown or beige. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why their color palate is so limited.
Not technically a color but I'm enjoying AW more than I thought.
