So.. I held down the button to open the truck.. I think a little longer than I usually do.. and instead of the trunk opening, the alarm goes off!
I must say.. that was the loudest and most painful alarm I've ever heard out of a car.
Is this the panic button I discovered?

yeah I won't use the trunk button as I will hold the button a little too long sometimes. Of course it is almost always at the most inconvenient times, like underground parking, in front of a bunch of strangers, or late at night.

Yea trunk button for 3 seconds = alarm, but just pressing it once or so often doesn't do the trick and you have to hold it. It's a bit awkward. I've only done it twice now .. but all within the first 3 weeks of owning the car.

The alarm has happened to me only once when I first got the car. Since then, I push the trunk button twice in a row and the trunk always opens. Maybe its just my key fob.

I honestly actually open it manually sometimes, because I'm scared of holding it down too long and hearing that freaking alarm. I remember it going off when I was half asleep going to work in the AM and it scaring the crap out of me.

The only time I accidentally triggered it was when I first bought the car.
It's kind of hard to accidentally do it once you realize you only need to hold it for one second to open the trunk.
Unless you have trouble counting...
