HI all!
I have a 545i with SMG transmission and it is fantastic!
But it could be MORE powerful , like Alpina B5 .

ESS Tuning sales the kit for E39 540i (that bring the 540i @410 HP, from 272, with the stock exhaust system), but they haven't the kit for 545i yet .

I am not in a hurry, as I have been driving it for only about four months, though I'd like to know the sort of specs it would reach with the kit .
Thanks a lot!

Not a supercharger, but RDsport has their R54 package. I think eurofan has mentioned it a few times.

For the price though, you could probably get a M5.

Yeah, I'm sure the cost of that package plus the base 545 or 550 car will put you well above the cost of a new M5. Their Power Exhaust system costs over $10K alone.

On a side note, I think they misprinted the 0-60 time.... 5.8??? The stock 645 is faster than that.

I figured that was the case. That's an awesome car. I was in contact with Carrozzeria Designs in Irvine about the RDSport parts but they aren't cheap.

On a side note, at the last E60 meet here in the Bay Area, we saw an E39 that was fully converted to an R48. It was white, replete with RDSport aerodynamics, 3 piece RDSport wheels (spokes painted black) and also had the RDSport plaque on the dashboard. It was parked at the shopping center where we were at but we couldn't find the owner.

Nik Saran is a class act, and their shop does exceptional work. Having just sold an R32 with their Stage 2 SC kit I can assure you that the level of customer support I received was unprecedented, and I highly recommend them if your looking for competitive pricing for forced induction that remains within our solar system. I'll be taking delivery of a 550i in the end of Jan with the mantran/sport package, and I know that their e60 kit is available.

Just give them a call and inquire, without install I'm guessing the ballpark will be 10-12k. Well below the aforementioned 'closing in on M5' price territory even with labor.

I've read about several of their cars in EuropeanCar and all the write ups seem very good. Now that you've mentioned it, EC had a Golf/GTI shootout and I think one of the top performers was a pretty much stock R32 with a VF supercharger...was that yours? haha

As for pricing, I think it might actually be less than $9K since that's how much they're charging for the 645.

The R32 in question was not mine, however below was:

Fun little car, but still a total pig for its class.

In other news, I have a feeling their pricing tiers have zero correlation to actual model cost. Being a return customer, Nik quoted me much less than 9, but said the kit would fall in the range I posted above.

Then again, I've been wrong before.
