I'll let you know in a couple hours. My wife's '06 530I without sport package is in the shop having 245/35R19's on the front and 285/30ZR19 on the rear put on OEM 166 rims. After much searching on this forum, it appears this is a good set up for the car. I ran it for a week with the large OEM M5 wheels on it. What a mess. A lot of rubbing and it messed up the DTC.

And... these 19" Michelin tires are damn expensive.
Just picked the car up. I have no rubbing problems and they look great.

My Ride: Oct 2005 530d limousine, Silver Grey, Steptronic, Black Dakota leather, 17" Star Spoke style 138 wheels with Bridgestone Potenza 050A, extended air conditioning, M sports steering wheel, PDC, Xenon, ProSat Nav, Cruise Control, iDrive 19.02

Finally, I installed my M166 wheels with M6 offset , ET17 in the back. Tyres sizes are 245/35/19 in the front and 275/30/19 in the back.
So for ones who don't know 166M and also 167M rear rims exist in two variants ET28 and ET17

Here are some pics with new 166M rims, M-tech body kit and M-tech suspension.

What offset do you have and on which wheels you tried 285s?
