One of the things that I find fearsome is owning a car that is as technologically advanced as ours once it is out of warrantee. I have no idea what a software update or a reprogramming must cost, never mind a clutch or blown motor. I'm sure it's a fortune. What about you guys?? Anyone out of warrantee?? And for those of you who aren't, what are you planning to do??

Depends on how the car fairs years 3 and 4. then will look at how much extended warranty is and then decide to keep it or not. Too soon to tell.

Mine was a 5 year investment so I have no plans to change it when the warranty runs out. In fact, the car was 2 yrs old when I bought it, so I expect to have it for at least 4 years without any warranty. (first 3yrs are covered by manufacturers warranty in the UK - not sure about other countries).

I am hoping it will be as reliable and as trouble free as my e39 was. (I bought that 2 yrs old and ran it for nearly 6 yrs and 100k miles without much bother).

I'm leased and if I owned it I would keep only with an extended warranty
