Well I did a full detail with clay car wash, and I left my car engine running lights on, a/c off and it was idle for about 30 mins plus. I was wiping off all the water off the whole car, and then I saw white smoke coming out the hood. So my first reaction was to turn off the car and pop open the hood to see what was going on. It smelled like something was burning. So I went to turn on the car again and everything seems to be OK? So what seems to be the problem? HELP ME PLS.

I own a 2004 50K miles Jet Black 530i used.

I wouldnt worry it is either just water running onto something hot, or on washing the car down water has got onto the warm radiator and caused the smoke. If the smoke doesnt smell and just smells like steam from a kettle lets say i wouldnt worry...

If there is an issue then the car will tell you, warning sign or light on the dash to tell you there is an issue. You should know if there is an issue, smoke from an engine bay if there is a smell which isnt normally then get it checked out, but from what you have said smoke after cleaning the car and the car is running then it is just steam. Cheers Tim

maybe it was soap burning. Soap that had reached the engine.

Don't worry yahmegaman,

Just some steam coming out.

When the engine is hot the washing water condense to steam.

Has happen many times to me, also.

The smell comes from soap or similar.

doesn't sound too serious. you'll probably want to avoid leaving the engine on next time, just to be safe.
