My wife loves white...not to say that white is a feminine color or anything. Just kidding
Funny you say that. My sister bought an e46 in white on tan two years before I bought my e46 in silver. I have been picking lighter colors the past few years, but didn't want to be seen as "copying" her I guess. Then, she bought an '06 e90, again in white over tan. So, I ended up once again looking for silver or gray when I was in the market for an e60 last year. Sounds ridiculous I know, but I guess in my subconscious mind I had started to associate that color combo with being feminine. Now I see all these amazing white cars on this forum and ask myself, "What was I thinking?" No doubt white will be on my list (with the silvers and light grays I still favor) for my next ride.

In the luxury segment, the silver/gray cars are still the most popular colors by far at 30%, followed by Black and White tied at 22% each, So I think the real story here is that White has caught up to Black . The real lemmings are still those Silver /Gray guys...

Back in the mid to late 1990's (1997), white was the "luxury" color here. Usually a pearlescent white of some kind rather than plain white, but white nonetheless. The BMW CA I was talking to said that he wished BMW would come out with some other variations of white, as all of the 5 series they had on the lot that were unsold were white.

but is far more forgiving than black or any color when it comes to dust, scuffs, scratches, ding/dent roll outs....

White is not hard to keep clean at all! There's a popular misconception that white is more difficult to keep clean but it's really one of the easiest of all colors to keep clean...

It's amazing to me how many people avoid a white car because they think they're hard to keep clean (actually the same reason I don't get black cars...)
