GER_545SMG

Well it has been 2,500 miles now with my 545 and I must say that this is absolutely the best car I've ever owned, bar none. Better than my W220 chassis S-500, better than my 4.4 X5, better than my 740iL. Just killer, absolutely killer. The things I like most about the car are SMG (esp downshifts!), Active steering, Active Ride Stabilization, Logic 7, clean ext. lines for keeping car clean, and adaptive headlights. The things that pester me are; not being able to preserve sport mode when shifting to a gear from reverse (I understand a sw upgrade is needed), having to uprade my exhaust beacuse it doesn't sound like a V-8 from the factory, F'in cupholders!, not enough pre-set L7 settings for different types of music (I listen to alt, jazz, classical, classic rock, rap, everything), and climate controls integrated with iDrive.

Looking forward to many, many more miles from this car...

What an endorsement! I have a 6pd so I cannot comment much on SMG but there is a bulletin on the cup holders. They file down the second spring loaded support. I had it done last week. Slight improvement but still ejects the half empty can. Will have them file some more.
