Hmmm, well we have two X5's, an E53 3.0 Sport and an E53 4.8is. We've just traded them for an E70 X5 4.8 Sport and an LCI E60 540 M Sport with 19in 172's All cars are black (carbon for the 540 - can't wait)....
Anyway, my 4 year old son took a liking to Mercedes when we were test driving an ML63. You'd think with his only ever knowing a BMW he'd be hooked, but no, he seems pretty taken with the 3 point star. He's too young yet for me to explain about quality etc so we just humor him when he plays Mercedes spotting whilst we are driving somewhere. Being a car nut at 4 yrs means he spots a Merc before us and we lose the competition every time we go out.
We tried Bimmer spotting but that fell flat. Looks like I've got some work to do...........

Kids these days.......
My plan is to influence my kids' taste in cars indirectly by urging them to dress very urban chic. Where I live, the Merc. people all wear khakis and sometimes baseball caps, whereas the BMW people tend to wear black.
Good luck with your son. How about a battery operated 645i or M3 gokart for him???

Then one wonders why kids ask for a BMW or Merc when they're 18...

Okay then...
I guess in retrospect I shouldn't have mentioned the fact that my sister is beautiful....
What I did fail to mention is that the Mercedes dealer is offering her the hauler at a $10k dollar discount with a lease money factor of .00095. So her payment from her C240 4matic will go up $20/month for a $53,000.00 MSRP Merc. minivan. That's the reason she's interested. Its not the car she likes, it's the deal.
Like my wife always says...the cheap turns out expensive. Like me "saving" money by not getting an M5, then adding Style 166 wheels, body kit, pilot sport 2s, Dinan exhaust etc....to the 550.
Anyway, my sister is picking up her cruise ship later today. She wouldn't even test drive a bimmer. Her loss. Thanks for the responses all the same.
