I mean what happened to the gorgeous Auburn interior?
I was trying to locate it on the BMW-web and its not found?!!
That is odd, cause its my most favourite interior, anyone notice this mistake?

I asked about the Auburn interior at the BMW booth during the NY Auto Show.
They told me that Auburn was considered "limited edition" and that BMW is no longer producing Auburn leather in E60s. They did, however, state that "BMW has not ruled out phasing auburn leather back in during future model years".
I am fortunate to have mine, I love it! It gives the car that "luxury" appearance.

For me, it was one of the best colors ever....they replaced it with Natural Brown, which I saw in person, and is too light for me...If you want a two tone interior, you only have natural brown to choose from, how F%^%ING BORING!!!

The brown is a good substitute and yields a luxury look. Check it out. IMHO and with apologies, the Auburn was simply hideous for most (me too) and was rightly cancelled. It was like having Ann Margaret's hair color all over the cabin. Actually I'm shocked it took this long to kill it. BMW should have tinted its Auburn color more like the Audi's Amaretto Brown.

Am in complete agreement with CVT. The auburn was not quite "it" (IMHO). The Mrs had a TT with the "baseball leather" seats which was abso stunning. The color and stitching were fantastic. I'll try and find a picture.
Hopefully BMW will come up with a new "rich" feeling auburn-ish leather. I think they can look really sharp ...... as well as quite putrid if done incorrectly!

I love my Auburn, but what surprised me is how almost all who have seen my car have loved it too. I'm talking about people who would not hold back their opinions if they hated it, but almost all have loved it.
I guess for us Auburn guys the only new color that would really do is the Natural Brown. Yes it may be lighter, but it still has the two tone look and compared with the other available colors it is the richest looking. Black is boring and it hides the design details. Gray.....I've had grays on all my cars since the early 90's and have been tired of it for a few years now, Cream Beige is actually a nice color but my friend has it in his E64 and it is very hard to keep clean..........so at this point if I were in the market for an LCI I would be going with the Natural Brown interior.
