I am wondering if anyone knows when the 2009 550i will be available. I remember when I leased my '06 in April, the 2007s were just starting to roll out but my dealership says that was unusual. Anyone know??

Thanks,
Jeff

The "09" will just be a number IMHO since the LCI gave the mid-life kick and now we are into wind-down before the F10...

I agree but I am thinking that the only thing they might do is go for the 400HP twin turbo motor. I would hate to take delivery of a car in March that is no longer being offered in April. When is the F10 scheduled for release??

I somehow don't think that BMW will try to cr@p on itself by offering a significant engine change in an "old" body.

IIRC (and I stand to be corrected) F10 is scheduled during 2010 in USA as a US 2011. EU may be 6 months earlier (Q4 2009?) as per E60 launch.

My dealer confirmed that the 08's will be available through the summer and that the 09's will be available in September , he says that the new V8 will only be available on the X6 .Likely the F10 will get it and the 2 or 3rd year of the 7..............but things could change

Cheers

Are you talking about ordering BMW's? Normally the next model year production starts in the current year's spring. In other words, you can order a 2008 through Mar-Apr. After that you can only order a 2009.

Not so much in North America. We can usually order from the factory until about 60 days before the model year change over. So assuming that North America will go to model year 2009 at the beginning of September 08, one should be able to order until the end of June.

I agree with the earlier poster - very doubtful that you'll see the new V8 or many other changes for MY09. Maybe some new colors - Imola Red would be nice!!

Interesting.

I placed my U.S. spec order in May 07. The sales rep told me the earliest available production slot (unless an opening popped up) would be in July. Their showroom only had mostly 08 models and the few 07's there were being discounted as demo cars.

I never asked, but since I didn't see any price sheets on the 07's I assumed you couldn't order them. I don't think auto makers allow orders for two different model years simultaneously.

I'm pretty sure I've seen other members in N/A who got their 08's in June which means they probably ordered them in April.

You've got it right. In the US, the E60 MY 08 was introduced in March or April 07. BMWNA does do that sometimes (actually seems like every other year or so with the 5er!!).
