Check the manual. It's in the front, pages 2 and 4, I believe. The oil will be changed, without cost, once a year if you don't reach the indicated mileage.

Greater frequency of fluid changes (engine oil, transmission, differential, brake fluid) will probably result in a car that is in much better internal mechanical shape at 100,000 miles than one which follows the BMW program. Both will probably still run fine, but the overly-maintained one (if I can call it that) will probably be able to get to 200,000 miles, and the other, probably not. If you don't plan to go for the long mileage, and don't really care about subsequent owners, why bother changing anything except when the I-Drive tells you?

right on planing to keep the car tip top until 2011 when I change to the f10
I would've thought was wore out an engine more than anything else was making short commutes when the engine doesn't have time to properly warm up.

Must be easy to do 200,000 miles in HK.

My engine warms up within 10 mins of driving, dont know how long yours take......
I alway rev to 5k or more.

Probably a little longer but my journeys always allow my engine to warm up. I would never buy an "older" car with a low mileage - to me that indicates it may well have done the "wrong" kind of miles.
