when jumping e60 can the post under the hood be used

when jumping e60 can the post under the hood be used or do i have to connect to the battery in the trunk?

The ones under the hood are fine for jumping. Hopefully this is not something you need to do right now!

I believe the battery is sealed in the trunk and that's why they supply the terminals under the hood.

i left my dvd player connected to my gloves(flashlight adapter) and it drained my battery.

If the battery is completly drained you need to jump from the trunk, if you have some power, you can jump from the terminal under the hood.

According to the owner's manual, the terminal under the hood is expressly for jump starting. There's also a negative nut nearby (no jokes please).

You can always jump start - both as a source and a target - from the posts under the hood. You never need to use the battery in the trunk.

Do it with extreme caution. The donnor car must not be running or the surge in both amp and volts may fry your E60. I know because I did it to my car.
