SAT is the best invention since sex...Yes, it's that good

This coming from someone who's owned 6mt's, Step and SMGII E46 M3's...

All that said, I have yet to drive dual clutch tranny's as a comparison.

I was asking this because I am keeping an eye out for 2 year old LCI but it wont come with SAT so may have to do the retro fit trick.

Thanks for the help.

Something just occurred to me. Why did BMW take one year to make the SAT optional available in UK? I believe the retro fit can be done on any LCI car and is very straightforward. Unless of course they only decided to manufacturer and develop the software upgrade a year after LCI release.

I just saw this car from BMW used approved cars and they have the SAT option but the registered date is in late 2007:

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/car_details...ANX72010CZ03695
http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/car_details...ANX92000CZ06700

This implies that the option must have been available much much earlier than what is indicated by littlemouse. Can anyone help with working out when the option was available on UK cars? TIA

Thought I would just let you know that I have SAT on my 31st October 2007 LCI if this helps gauge timescales for introduction.

BTW, the transformation is amazing when the SAT sport mode is selected.

Yes it does help. I now know it started to be available between Mar 07 and Oct 07.
