First off just want to say thanks to everyone for helping me with all my previous questions, I think I'm better suited to buy now.
So I'm curious when buying a CPO, will the dealer update the iDrive software to the latest version for free? What about providing an updated navigation DVD? I'd like to get the most recent versions of both when I buy but I want to know if I should expect to be charged for either of these or not.
Thanks!

You might be able to negotiate that into the purchase (especially now with e60 sales pretty slow) but unless there was a problem originally then they will not upgrade the software for you. Try to get it included in the deal, it's mostly labor so they may just go ahead and throw it in. (wish I had been on this forum before I bought my car I would've gotten this included too)

Navigation DVDs are about $199 or lower.
Looking for certain defects that requires software updates:
- LED eyebrows not lit when night-time headlights are turned on (not daytime running lights)
- CD/DVD player does not playback MP3 files on disc
MP3 retrofit is covered under the terms of the new vehicle warranty. Updating software and retrofitting MP3 playback should take a maximum of 17 FRUs or 2.2 hours. CD-R should be burned in ISO 9660:1999 formats. Keep the CD-R file structure simple. Test the MP3 CD-R in your computer and a current model BMW first.

If it does, you will most likely have to buy it yourself.

Your CPO should come with a navigation disk. If it doesn't, you could probably negotiate for the most recent version.
