Wheel advice for a 528xi owner
#1
Hey guys I am new here. I just picked up my 528xi. I am looking to upgrade the wheels to these:
http://www.bekkers.com/Merchant2/merchant....gory_Code=m3rep
or these
http://www.bekkers.com/Merchant2/merchant....tegory_Code=v10
is there anything I should look out for when purchasing wheels for an XI model? It seems every other wheel that I wanted did not have an offset that fits on xi models. What offsets fit on the xi models? Is it +35 and up? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.'
Also, what are some good sites for aftermarket parts, bumpers, lights, etc...?

Lots of xi wheel questions lately! Do a search for this topic. You will find plenty of discussion as to what will fit and what won't. It's all about getting wheels with the correct offset. The xi models sit higher than the i models, and the hubs stick a bit farther out. This means that the OEM wheels BMW makes for the i model will not fit the xi model. Now, BMW does make a model 124 OEM 18" wheel in both i and xi, and it's the only "official" OEM wheel in a staggered setup for the xi.
Now, if you want to go with 19's, forget OEM's...will have to go after-market. Some are good quality, some are garbage. I'd suggest going with ones made specifically for BMW's so your hub openings are to OEM spec, to avoid hub rings and potential vibration issues.
I have the same CSL wheels as C's Bimmer which can be found at www.velocitymotoring.com or www.modbargains.com. You can also see if you like anything on tirerack.com, but make sure you plug in your model as the xi so you get the right options. OEM offsets are ET43 front, ET55 rear for staggered setup, but you can go a bit lower on both ends. Mine are ET40 and ET45, front/rear respectively.
Good luck!
