Don't you just wish you could insert an i after the first P ? Aaah yeah, PiMP in da hizzle
I had thought about that, the only problem? PiMP certification doesn't get you many jobs (unless you use the "Players Ball" for networking)

I believe this whole "contractor" issue is due to simple differences in usage. It is common in the US to refer to someone who manages construction projects from the macro level as a "general contractor." That is, they assemble various contractors to, for example, pour the foundation, frame the walls, put on the roof, and so forth. Each individual completing the various tasks at the micro level is referred to as a "contractor" or "sub-contractor," depending on the local usage of the term.

Yes, there are defense contractors and myriad others, but if someone says to me, "I'm a contractor," I initially assume they work in the commercial or residential construction industries. Obviously, certain industries within the US will use different terminology, and the term will vary greatly in meaning from one country to another.

Sorry to hear that, not much of a retirement plan there. Pretty much just dump your carcass off the cliff.
