Seriously???

I have an '04 545 and average 19.6 - 21 mpg in a 45 mile commute each way per day - mostly highway. I use a good mix of DS mode and D, and I dont baby her.

^Yup, seriously I have no idea why my mpg is so bad. Could it be that most of my driving is short during the week about 8 miles a day all city? The weekend is when I do any highway driving.

I guess that could be it - most of mine is hwy driving... I hate that I do almost 100 miles per day - ugh!

I know there has been some debate about the removal of the Charcoal Filter - but I did take mine off and feel a bit of difference in response and hp but also have seen a slight change for the better in gas mileage.

None for me and its been just over a week... I was surprised I didnt get any - it seems if I even think the wrong thing about my car she punishes me with an error msg!!! I just came back in after driving her and I will say there is definitely a noticeable difference.

Mine over a 3000 miles mostly city gets about 15.4 This tank was reset, and it is currently 11.9 all city no freeway.

seen 28mpg on long trips and as low as 13mpg when givin it some.
and with fuel prices here in uk now at £1.40 ($2.30) per litre this is not a good thing!!

i agree with triston in the uk the fuel rates dont help our high engined motors at all!!!

mines,

2003 545iA

18.00 mpg around town and thats pretty much it..... ive never seen it higher than that...... and pumping £30.00 in every other day...

Everything is expensive in the UK mate! I lived there for 10 years, but was FUN growing up there during the 80's pop scene.

90% highway miles
Very easy on the pedal
Avg. 21.3 mpg
