Default Whats in the picture??

Hi ,
i really have no idea what is that for, i am already using the 6CD changer in the glove box but i dont know what is those two highlighted things in the picture below are?
1- is that a cassette tape? i have tried one but it does not fit, the hole is just a bit narrow to fit the tape.
2- is it another CD or DVD player, i dont know.
3- in picture two, what is MD?

530i E60

Thanks

Cd slot on top and DVD slot for navigation disc.
Just a quick question, do you have an owner's manual? I ask because this almost seem like a joke topic, no offense intended.

i know it seems like a silly question but i really dont know.
i bought it used from an auction, no manual.
i dont think the first one is CD, the slot is so narrow/small to fit a CD.
and Yes, the second one may be a DVD.
Do you know what does MD mean from second picture?

Thanks

The first one is for a mini disc (MD). That was an emerging technology in Asia which didn't really take off, so won't be of much use to you. If you know what the original PSP (playstion hand held) games looked like then the MD looks similar, an actual small disc enclosed in a plastic case. Mini disc were popular in Japan in the early 2000s.

The second slot is for your navigation DVD. No, you cannot play regular DVDs in it, strictly for the navigation.
