Whats that noise in m y trunk?!?

My Ride: 05 jet black 545i ya...

so I drove back to Austin today from houston and when I got back to my place I opened the trunk to get my suitcase out and I hear whats sounds like a fan just above the passenger side rear fender well...is there some sort of fan in there or something?

I've noticed it also. It doesn't seem to do any harm and there are no warnings so I'm not bothered.
