[/quote]An image I pieced together - also, this is a great example of why you shouldn't shoot your car with a wide angle lens... I've seen this a lot on the forum, noses of cars looking too big, etc... I shot this with my buddy's Canon, and the trunk is waaaaay huge, and it blocks out the rest of the car. Just look at it compared to the perspective in the M5 picture.

Or else US will have more room top-to-bottom in the cut-out. If this design is retained, it will be interesting to see how much room remains on the left and the right of the plate. I think it could look a little strange if the box is too tightly cropped.

I went to the dealer yesterday to submit my specification, and he said that the 2006 MY should be available from mid-September. Anyone know what the UK/EU cars will have different ? If the trunk/boot does change design, think I'll definitely wait !

yeah, I'm ordering the sport kit, which comes with that, but I'm intrigued about the flat trunk by the license plate - I picked up the latest brochure yesterday and that has the sculpted trunk in it. If the M5 trunk is a sign of how the 2006 trunk will look, how come the 545i in the pictures has it already ? Was it a mule car ?
