Check your CABS for the cause of the thud. They suck.

Get it jacked up and give the wheels a good shaking by foot obviously while watching the bushes below the car , you will notice excessive movement on a worn bush .

Bmw's enjoy wearing bushes out , or maybe it is the drivers

My 05 545i has been rock solid however I sense a few maintenance items need to be done soon. How long should these items last?

Brakes, I still have my original brakes at 43k miles. I sense this is good for brakes huh?

Suspension components, shocks, bushings? I am starting to hear a slight thud over certain bumps that wasn't there before. Any ideas? I tend to hit the top of my 166 front wheels (pass side) once in a while. Wasn't this way last year.

Serpentine belt. How many miles or years am I to get out of this?

Battery, still orig one. When should this be replaced?

Thanks!

Vince
