What're you looking to replace the E60 with?

If I werent so damn tall I would have already traded in the M5 for a 911 Turbo(997)...
If i were to look into another 4 door... Masarati Quattroporte Range... SICK!

I'm in a weird situation. Stereotypically, the wife tries to talk the husband out of spending a fortune on a car, but I'm in the opposite situation. She says I should get either an M6 convertible or a Porsche 997 Turbo. I think I should get a cheap and cheerful Mark 5 Golf GTi for under $10k. It seems really dumb that I have an expensive car when I work from home and most weeks don't even reach 50 miles. So I figure I should get something that's comfortable, has a bit of power, air-con and isn't an embarrassment. A Golf GTi seems to fit the bill nicely. Plus I don't want to be the last person trying to sell a petrol V8 when everyone's switched to 50mpg diesels, hybrids and electric cars.
Every time I do drive my 545 though, my thoughts of selling it are reset and I change my mind again. Then when 3 or 4 days go by without driving it and I start thinking again of selling. Crazy flip flop world.

Don't really have much use for a car this big, I am probably going to go back to a 2 door 2 seater. Cayman S, 370Z come to mind, but who knows what will happen in a couple of years?

The soon to be here 335is is looking very interesting. Less expensive to insure than an M ... with a decent level of performance and driving fun. That is, of course, if I can live without a V-8 as I have since downsizing from a 7 series to the e60 530xi.
Time will tell ... Or, I may consider the 335d ... it's been two decades+ since my first and only BMW diesel.

I am with you on needing 4 doors. Parking in midtown Manhattan is so freaking expensive that I really can only have one car. So it needs to have 4 doors.
