satisfying isn't it - 7 yrs previous model and in the bag again. bet the boys at Mercedes and are doing some head scratching.
Also, have you noticed how the trendy "horrified" reaction to the exterior styling is diminishing somewhat - guess what, real punters like us actually like the styling. Fat boy would-be racing driver journos are going to have to find another gravey train.
Jonboy - proud to be counted!

Yeah, the change in opinions is quite remarakble. Being an early adopter of the car I've taken a lot of stick on BB's on the web and there are still some losers over on Roadfly who just will not shut up and go away. Can't say I've ever been tempted to continually post sniping remarks on forums of cars I don't like. Sad people.

ISUK;
I couldn't agree more about the change in opinions, especially on Roadfly.
But what I can't understood is why there are STILL a handful of buffooning trolls that have no lives bashing the E60 on that board.
Christ, some even seem to go as far as attempting to psyche people out by making them think that if they accept the new 5, they have settled for something that would have been FAR outdone by what could-have-been. This really irritates me because it seems to target the newcomer BMW buyers, who are just coming in while the exterior stylings are progressing. Completely ignorant and speculative assertions are what rule that board most of the time when it comes to the E60, and its such a shame 'cause I really used to enjoy posting there.
Sad people, indeed.

The new 5 may be winning lots of praises in certain magazines, but there are also prominent reviewers out there (eg. Jeremy Clarkson from TopGear) who hates the car just as much!
There are still too few e60's on the roads.. so the general public have yet to be swayed!

Jeremy Clarkson is an idiot. He is well known for his predjudice against BMWs. About the only BMW he has ever praised is the M3.
I mean - just look at the man himself, he is a loudmouthed, semi-literate boor, dressed in early 80s styles, trying to be controversial simply to get himself more media space (and hence more cash before his limited shelf life is up)
Clarkson only likes typical penis substitute cars - he's hardly likely to get wet about an executive saloon.
In the grand scheme of things, he is irrelevant.
Please do not confuse him with a knowledgeable motoring journalist.
