The Susan Koman Breast Cancer benefit demo drive comes to town next week. I chose a 650 convertible and also asked for a 550, but only the 650 was confirmed, so I guess they may be limiting one ride to a customer. Just curious what else appealed to you guys?

Ray - I just finished helping transport one of the Komen vehicles from Natick, MA to Peabody, MA as part of the Boston Chapter BMWCCA's support of the Ultimate Drive. When I showed up an hour early for the transport piece, they told me to drive anything I wanted. There were not any M Cars in the group, but I tried out a 750Li and then drove the 650 convertible for the forty miles to the next dealership. I started out with the top down in the sun...1/2-way through the trip thunderstorms arrived, so I pulled under an overpass and raised the top. Two guys in Z4 ragtops just kept driving through the rain.

Anyway, the staff of young men and women is very helpful, and will probably let you drive just about anything they have. As I recall there were two Z4 convertibles, one Z4 coupe, a 650 coupe and 650 convertible, and a verrrrry nice looking E60 550i with M-package (M wheels and aero stuff) and a whole bunch of other things including the 335i hardtop-convertible. Have fun!

Two years ago I drove a 745i sport and a 745Li non-sport.

Weird thing was that the 745i sport had overboosted steering and was not fun to drive.

The 745Li had tight steering and was actually more fun to drive!
