My local dealer has and Indianapolis Red/Black Merino/Aluminum trim '08 M5 remaining on the lot. The car is loaded (HUD, soft close, ventilated seats, heated rears, HD radio, Sat, IPOD/USB, sunshades...) but has been on the lot a very long time. Today, I decided to phone my CA and inquire what it would take to get me in it. In short, I have 13 months remaining on my '08 550's 24 month lease..I like new stuff. Basically, what they are willing to discount the M5 and what I still owe on my lease are the same. So the question is, would you all be willing to make the jump to the M if it meant an increased monthly payment of ~$200 over what you are paying now? I plan on driving the M tomorrow, but I would like some feedback from you all before I rush into a decision. Thanks in advance.

Wow, if it's only a $200/month hit (well, the insurance hit + fuel cost will also be higher), I'd consider pulling the trigger. Sounds like a sexy beast of a car - can't beat the power and refinement of an ///M, and for $200 bucks more, you really can't beat the price. The 550 is a powerful car - but the M elevates you into very rare territory!

Only if you promise to take me for a ride after you pull the trigger! You know I am down in Columbia all the time, and I can be convinced to take a ride. Never been in an e60 M5.

Good luck, I look forward to seeing it on our SC roads.

wow. that is an interesting dilemna. I was at the dealer today to pick up some oil and some leather conditioner. I purposely avoided the showroom floor

Drive the M and tell us what you decide!

I'd bet you lunch your gonna go for it!

If you can afford it do it. I've seen that m5 you are talking about.

I guess that depends what your current payment is and the amount of disposable income you have. For me? It'd be a no-brainer. My payment is only $217 a month. LOL
