So I have been dealing with a lot of BS since getting my 20" wheels. The wheels came with 30/25 series tires. I have had 3 wheels get cracked, bent, or both. I have since paid to have them repaired and are back on my car. Now I have one of my rear tires slowly leaking air. Went from 45 to 30 psi in a couple weeks. Te replace this 285/25/20 tires is going to cost me around $300. Now I absolutely hate these tires and wish I would have gotten the 35/30 series setup instead (like most others have). I could spend money on replacing the tire to just have my wheels break again and make the the money a waste. Should I just cut my losses already(kind of 2 late) and pick up a set of 19's...? I know I most likely won't be able to sell this set of wheels or tires so they would basically just be expensive garbage taking up space.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
some notes of additional info:
*spent $800 for the wheel repairs (one rim had 6 cracks, and they charge per weld)
*I still feel a little "vibration" when driving, possibly due to the 4th wheel being a little bent and not diagnosed earlier
*I supposedly have a lifetime warranty on the welds done to fix the cracks.

The only thing between you and the road are your tires.
Dealing with tire and wheel issues is a pain.
Why are the wheels cracking? Poor quality? Driving style?
If the wheels are cracking and you?re loosing tire pressure then you?re risking your life and others.
Do the smart thing; stop throwing good money after bad. Dump the wheels and tires!
Buy the best OEM and or the best aftermarket wheels and tires you can afford.
Just my two cents worth,
Regards,
Tim

I have to agree, I would not have bothered fixing a wheel with 6 cracks in it - too expensive and not worth it IMHO, that damage is too extensive for me to fix it. Like anything else aluminum - once it's bent/broken it's never quite right again, no matter how good the repair. I'd get another set of the best rims I could afford, sell the ones of this set that are still good and get some taller tires for the next set.
I run 245/35/20 fronts with 285/30/20 rears, I had to roll the fenders, but it was very worth it to have that extra peace of mind when driving.

Unfortunately I have been in this situation most recently and ended up getting some aftermarket wheels by Avant and I am very happy, I am now in the process of getting my old wheels professionally fixed and sell them all. I have 5 wheels, 1 extra rear wheel and 3 tires. I think 2K is a fair price??
