I got this cheap engine support bar given to me and am about to use it to hold up the engine to take out the sub frame. Thing is, it's got a weird setup. As seen in the photos it has these three bolts at the part which holds the base on. Any ideas what the top two are for? Tightening the bolts does not squeeze the bottom part (that has the rubber feet) since the metal tabs are to thick to squeeze and so the whole red bar rotates fore and aft roughly 30 degrees. I would imagine it should be tight.
Also, the opening to hold the base is quite wide and there is so much slop that you can't come anywhere near tightening it down. This means the bar flops back and forth. I can get some washers to put in as spacers (it comes with one but that's not nearly enough). Any thoughts on how to use it?
