My Ride: 2008 550I LOADED, all options except HUD and NV
Good quality aftermarket are just as good, if not better than OEM, our cars typically came with either Bosch Platinum +4 or NGK plugs as OEM (sometimes labeled "BMW"). I replaced my plugs last year with the Bosch ones and it turned out they were the ones my car came with. You do remind me that I need to drive my car more often, I just passed 80k miles and my car is 3 years older than yours

Wow. That's it?
If you're serious about maintaining your machine, here's what I'd look at before 100K:
1. CCV
2. DISA
3. Coolant Expansion Tank
4. Radiator
5. Spark Plugs
6. Coils (they're only $30 each)
7. MAF cleaning
8. TB cleaning
9. TB gasket
10. O2 sensors, all 4 of 'em
11. Rear diff fluid
12. Transmission fluid
13. Belts
14. Tensioner and idler pully
15. Injector flush
These are basic, well known M and N54 jobs before 100K- just space 'em out and handle them one at a time. Your car will thank you.

Spark plugs and atf was done this weekend, note to those that want to tackle the spark plugs yourself, the spark plugs for the n54 requires a special tool to remove its not the usual hexagon.

I used the Bosch OEM (replaced factory NGK) because the Bosch was on sale for less than $6.00 with a $3.00 per plug rebate through Amazon.
After rebate 8 plugs for less than $24.00 and free shipping - tough to beat.
Lots of good DIY on forums. On the V8 Plugs #4 and #8 are as bad as everyone says but the socket assembly you build up is key.
Addition maintenance I have done are rear diff. drain and flush, trans drain and flush, power steering drain and flush, and of course engine oil and filter every 5-6K.
