What is "too long" to leave standing lamps on?

igor and Iceman..

I can play with my Idrive, navigation and listen to music (pretty loud) AND even have the parking lights ON (to get instruments light ) for 30-45 min.

I have NEVER got any LOW battery warning...

When I wash my car, I use to turn on the parkings lights, turn up the music, for almost 30 min. when I'm drying the car.... I've never seen the low battery sign...

What do you need AS for when the car is parked?

When the low bat warning comes all systems get deactivated to save power for the next start of the engine. After the start of the engine everything works perfectly fine again then.

Interesting question.? For some reason I was under the impression that the lights will automatically switch off when the battery charge drops to a point where there is just enough juice to start the car.? Is this correct or am I misinformed?? Rudy?
The answer is fairly simple and quite logical. BMW defines certain "electrical consumers" into categories like "convenience consumers," "auxiliary consumers," and "legally prescribed auxiliary consumers."

Convenience consumers (like windows or seat/steering wheel heaters) only work when the key is on or the motor is running. Auxiliary consumers (like aux ventilation, residual heating, telephone) will work without the key but will be shut off if the battery's charge becomes low. Prescribed auxiliary consumers (like hazards, standing lamps) will remain on regardless of battery charge. In other words, the battery will die or become low enough to not start the car in order to allow the prescribed consumers to stay on as long as possible.

Here's everything else you might want to know...

Edit: I've updated the above document and put it in the technical gallery. Now it really is everything you want to know about the E6x power supply and related systems!

You forgot about the dishwasher and tumble drier.
I believe he had a 5-ring ceramic hob on back order as well.

That's what is pi**ing me off...
BMW is still not able to put them in my car, even though I allready paid for them.
It's basically thicker glas, about double as thick, so you can't break in. Not bullet proof, just a little protection against the weirdos in my neighbourhood who allready broke in to my cars very often.
Those windows are available right now, but the software needs to be programmed for the higher weight... So I guess I'll have to wait another five years until they put them in my car...

Sorry to ask a stupid question but where are the standing laps? I have this option set but I do not see them when I close the door at night.
