I follow the owner's manual too, 36f/42r for the staggered setup.

Any technical reasons why you choose this setting?

40ish Psi sounds too high to me.

I run 34-36 all around.

I have the 18" 124s on RE50A RFTs.
overinflating the RFTs by 2-3 psi's more than what the manual says actually makes them a little softer. When I ran those tires at all corners, I went by what the manual said. Now I have RFTs up front with 34 and non-RFTs in the back with 40psi. Works best for me, but mine's not staggered and I have an Xi.

I would say check your door jam, there's a sticker there that states the recommended TP (mine says 38PSI Front and 44PSI Rear) I try to keep mine as close to that as possible.
Or the side wall of the tire. I run 42 on all fours.

If I remember correctly, I think my door-sticker says 32 or 34. This is on my 535xi, non-sport.

Your not having problems with 2 different sets of tires? I'm runing 35 front 39 rear like the door jam says but I only have 1500 miles on them, to soon to tell if its good or not.
cheers
