Hey guys,

Below is the specifications of my current wheels and tires. They are on OEM sport suspension/Anti Roll/Active Steering System. Based on your personal experience(s), can anyone please tell me if I would have rubbing issues with 285/30/20 for the back?

245/35/20 Front 20x9.5 et 6
275/30/20 Rear 20/10.5 et 13

Also, I have a 3 piece wheel set. I think the previous owner had them taken apart and refinished. If they put them back incorrectly, can the rim(s) leak air? How should I check to find out whether the rim(s) or tire(s) is leaking? I was wondering because my FTM (Flat Tire Monitor System) goes off every week or so, stating that I have a flat tire. Often times, I either had to reset it or add more air and reset...

Thanks for you help. Yeah, I think I saw that before I created a new topic. I think his offsets are less aggressive than mine. And his wheel specs are a bit different. Due to my offsets, I wonder if I would have a rubbing issue on the outer wheel well. I don't think I have any more room to add spacers to keep the tires from hitting the shocks or springs.

Anways, I was hoping to get some feedbacks from someone who might have the same or much similar set up without rolling their fenders or added coilover.

Hey guys,

I need to make a decision on whether I should sell my 0EM 123 wheels and tires today. They are in great shape and I hate to find a replacement if my VIPs can not handle thicker tires without rubbing issues.

Can anyone please tell me whether I can fit 285/30/20 on 20x10.50 et 13 without having to roll the fenders to avoid rubbing issues?

I think I already know the answer by doing some research. However, your personal experiences will be very helpful.

I think my wheels are designed for M5 if I wish to get bigger tires for more cushion.

I guess I will have to spend some money a the tire shop for that answer...

The owner of rotiform is running 20x11 with kw 2 or 3's and he had told me he had no issues. I don't remember which tire size he is running. But I purchased 20x10.5 from him and have not decided which tire size to run. I will have that problem after I receie my new wheels.

I talked to a sales manager of a tire shop today. He said going from 275/30/20 to 285/30/20 is "not going to do anything more than giving me wider wheels." Thus, the height (30) will stay the same! The wider wheels might give "a little" meat to protect the rims from road rashes if you happen to hit the side of the curbs and "that is all". With that said, unless the height of the wheels can be increased (unlikely to happen if I don't roll the fender), it would not make sense for me to go wider than what I currently have.

According to the info tirerack.com provides, 285/30/20 "should be" the minimal size for the specifications of my rear wheels (anything less is too small for the width of the wheels). Check out this link and click on the SPECS TAP:

Because I have an et 13 on 10.5" wheel width (too aggressive for a non M5), the wider wheels (going from 275 to 285) can be hazardous if it sits below the fender, especially if I have heavy passengers and bumpy roads. In my case, 275/30/20 is too narrow or small for a 10.5" wheel width; and maybe that's why my TPM keeps telling me that I have a flat tire every 5 days (leaking air because of that, perhaps).

I hope this info will help anyone who needed better understanding like I did...
