I am wondering at what RPM should the car be idling at. It is a automatic. I find that it feels rough when stopped at a light. The RPMs flucuate around 700 or higher or lower, around 600 or so?? I thought it was the air cond., but when I turned it off, it still felt rough??? It has approx 51000km and supposedly it was all tuned up before I bought it in the spring. Has anyone else experienced this? I think I will take it in next week.

My car has the same engine and idles steadily at 600 rpm. Slightly higher on start-up, but it settles down after a minute or so.

I had started a thread on this issue too, and my car was new, but already rpm around 600rpm.
lately i felt a little rattling, so i posted a thread to ask if its normal in other E60 as well...it seems everyone idling rpm is also 600

~600 rpm is the normal idle, yes.
