What next?
My car got caught in hurricane Mathew and had water into the footwells. Somewhat shockingly, my insurance company is calling it a total loss and is making me an offer. What can match my loaded 550i? My top choices are a 2014 535i, a 2014 550i, and a 2014 Model S P85. What do you guys think?

I recently drove a Tesla and it is wicked cool, and fun...but i like to hear the engine so I could never own an electric. Braking was awesome on the Tesla, you don't have to, the car slows down for you and uses that energy to charge the battery. Totally cool, but no engine! I am also not a fan of the F10. Are you considering anything else? If you can live without the engine go Tesla.

Hell, looking for ideas on anything else, those are my top 3. I have a reservation for a model 3, but I am probably a year out from delivery. A model S is kind of the unicorn right now. Beautiful, but freakin expensive and I want the loaded brand new one. A 5 series or 7 series I can pick up off lease and be happy.

Two cents: Gasoline engines are going to be a thing of the past in the not too distant future (and maybe drivers as well). There will be plenty of time to drive Teslas in the future, but BMW internal combustion engine days are limited. Find a sexy 335i or 340i and make peace if you hate the F10.

Well said. How about an M5?
KyleB - I recently rented a Buick with back massaging seats, it was phenomenal. I heard the new BMWs may have them. Retrofit!!!

Drove several 2014s today, not impressed with the 535i. 750li was very nice, but a little bit of a boat and my kids do not need that much room in the back seat. Top 2 choices now are a S6 with the turbo V8 and a 650i gran coupe. The Audi was awesome, not as refined as the 650i inside, but power, handling and braking seemed far superior.
