What makes you pick 5 instead of 3

Space and weight. The 5 weighs as much (~70lbs) as the 3 with the same engine. Plus the 5 is almost a tradition now.

3s are way too small. The top of my head gets way too close to the roof and bumps it at times in it which 'feels' unsafe to me.

My lease was up in May and I did not want to buy a 330 only to have it replaced 6 months later. Plus I prefer the look and size of my 550.

I've never even thought about buying a real camera. Just not something I ever feel like I need.

3 series IMHO is just so low rent compared to 5 series.....probably same difference between 5 and 7 series.
