My Ride: 2010 535 xi - M Sport Pkg & other goodies

Hi there, I don't usually cross post, in case you saw this in the Touring section, but I noticed there's more activity here, and most things the car comes with I figure would probably be the same as in the sedan... So thanks in advance for your help.

I'm buying a used 2010 535 wagon, if all goes well next week. I don't often buy used, so I don't want to find out things are missing later. I was wondering what to look for when picking up the car?

I thought of these things, which I assume should come with this car:

? 2 key fobs
? Manuals
? Spare wheel
? Toolkit
? First aid kit
? NAV system - it's hard drive based, no? If not, NAV DVD.

Anything else?

1-Just go to it's idrive and check the car maintenance, see if the car needs service like oil change, filters, breaks, etc. if you are buying from a BMW dealer than it's a moot point

2-Make sure the jack is there.

There is a flashlight apparently, i would ask if it's there.

Thanks, good tip on the jack! With my 335 and RFT's, they don't give a jack anymore.

I would add the following -
- maintenance/service history of the car, if available.
- if buying from a private owner, Pre-Purchase Inspection by BMW dealer to see if there are any problems with the car; it costs 1 hour of labor. Well worth it. If you are buying from non-BMW dealer, PPI is still worth it.

As noted, flashlight should be in the glove box (left side).
Not entirely sure about 2010 but most prior years did NOT come with a first aid kit.
My car didn't come with the plastic valet key but came with the holder (also mounted in the glove box) which I don't miss but it is missing.
Make sure the USB/Audio cable is included if it was an option on the car(check inside the centre console toward the front). It was an option but expensive for the cable. If purchasing from dealer make the cable part of the deal like I did.
If the car has the optional CD changer make sure the CD magazine is there.

The service history is very useful and make sure all recalls have been done.

Guys, its a used car, you get whatever the seller has, a flashlight? Really? I bought my 545 with one key, that's all he had, that's all I got. Don't pass up a good running car for silly things like a jack or flashlight or a manual. My friend bought a 530 and soon after needed to replace the smg pump...he got two keys and a flashlight tho. Me, never had a problem with my smg pump.

For such a new car I think most are thinking CPO which means the dealer is required to include most of these things and if not at least ask for them.

Thanks everyone, I've got a great list now, quite a few of which I'd have never come up with on my own.
