One very common defect seems to be nicks caused by dealer prep guys removing the protective interior plastic. I had a nick in the vinyl seat back trim piece. I saw another car with a long scratch on one of the dash wood trim pieces. Bring a flashlight and look carefully. I too read the manual ahead of time and testes as much as possible. Take a test drive. Look with the flashlight almost parallel to the outside body pieces to discover any defects.

Take 2 minutes, walk around the car, get in, drive and enjoy! That's what I did. Your car will have scratches and door dings soon enough without obsessing about every little piece of lint on it when you pick it up.

I believe the French were more excited when another American, General Patton, landed in their country so they could stop surrendering to the Germans.
Its a line from the Movie "Night Shift". If you have never seen it, please rent it. Its one of the funniest movie's of all time.

Check under the rocker panels, especially if you have the Aero kit. Mine was dinged/scratched at the driver's door presumably getting it off the truck. I pointed it out and they re-finished it. Unless your retentive like me, you probably wouldn't care becuase I only saw it when I had my head under the car. Anyway, it was kind of a pain because I went to the dealer to pick it up, expecting to drive it home but had to wait another three or four days.
