As title really! On the right hand side of the rev counter - it goes up and down, lots of little white lines.

I tried to search but I didn't know what words to use to search it!

they're warning tabs that come up when the engine is cold, kinda like the lights on M cars. they just let you know your max revs until the engine warms up.

Are you referring to the RPM red line indicator? If so this fluctuates depending on the temperature of the engine. ie, cold engine =s lower RPM read line. I believe pre-LCI instrument panels had a variable redline indicator which was deleted on the LCI version.
