32mpg!!!!!!! thats not bad, dont you guys out there have a diffrent readings than use cos i would have said thats mighty impressive for use let alone .

I would be more inclined to expect some where between 18 - 26 that is a realistic figure i would say for the 530I

2006 530i, steptronic...commute about 25 RT daily, 30%Hwy - 70%City... I have never gotten better than 18.5 MPG!
I can second this. 2006 530i with the 255HP engine, ~18k miles on the odometer.
More "spirited" driving, and I'll easily dip into the 17's!
Now on a highway-only drive, I can easily get 31 MPG.

Before I put exhaust and straight pipe I was averaging about 23 mpg city and highway. Now I'm just under 21. I have gone 520 miles in one tank. Made it from Washington DC to Boston and was averaging about 35 mpg.

Best I've gotten on the highway is 31 mpg. My wife, I swear I can't figure out how she does it, got 33.1 mpg on same trip on the way home. If we just use the car to do short hops we've gotten as low as 17.5 mpg. If we use her for combined highway/city, we usually average 22-23mpg. She's a beast!

I'm seeing right at 25 in mixed driving (probably 60% expressway, but averaging 80-85 mph). With just highway driving I can get about 31-32. I'm very pleased with the fuel mileage for the size of the car.

45,000 miles on the odometer. 18-20 city, 31-32 highway. On the flat highway, I get better mileage at 85 mph than I do at 65 mph.

How many speeding tickets with 85 mph?
