My Ride: 2004 BMW 530i

So I decided to see if any of my phone functions worked today. I flipped down the SOS flap and held SOS placing an emergency call. The operator answered, asked how my day was going and asked if I needed any assistance.(IN THAT ORDER) I told him I was testing my system out and he told me that he couldn't locate me via his system. I called back bla bla bla passed me over to BMWNA. Some young lady answered the phone and said "You're calling in reference to a 2004 530i correct?" So I said yeah, she asked my personal info and then asked me if my 530i was a coupe sedan or convertible... The people at bmwna need the help section on bmwusa.com to comprehend the most obvious information. Maybe this is why we pay $200/hr for labor. Oh wait the service people have the automotive iq of a 5 year old girl. (most of them at least)

So this is the moral of my story:
Never call BMWNA of support unless you want to know how to turn your key, (push your button LCI people), roll down your windows, and find the setting menu of idrive. They are useless for everything else.

DAMN I forgot. I'll just call BMWNA and ask the customer support person to yell "WHO HERE THINKS THE E60 COME IN SEDAN COUPE AND CONVERTIBLE" and ask she who answers for her number. I have a feeling I'll get plenty of numbers....

So who here has NOT known things about their cars that their SA had NO CLUE about??? I find quite regularly that I know MANY things that the mechanics, SA's, salesmen etc at BMW know NOTHING about, and on THEIR own cars!

AGREED. I was told by a salesman (or client advisor psh) that the bluetooth in my car didn't work or show up in any menus because after 4 years or 50k miles when BMW Assist runs out bluetooth deactivates itself and I needed to reactivate bmw assist for $199 to get bluetooth access. He also let me know that it would be a great idea to keep the backseat clean because "boy you're going to get f*cked so much in this car" He was right about one thing and it had nothing to do with bluetooth

Just this weekend I was helping my Mother-in-Law with her new F01 7 series....the dealer told her they had NO IDEA how to burn CD's to the hard drive in the car and she would have to make an appointment to bring the car in so the mechanics could figure it out! Now for the funny part, the F01 has the manual (in it's entirety) in the IDrive menu, and I just read for no more than 30 seconds and then started burning her CD's to the hard drive!!

Wait. Your mother in law drives an f01? If you are roughly 45ish that makes her 65ish. She may be the only 65 year old woman I have ever seen or heard of ever driving a 7 series.
