Bought 4 brand new Michelin PS2 tires last November, and the rear are totally worn off, did the alignment and balancing and everything the same day when i put the new tires. Just put new tires again, but I'm sure it will happen again.. I was told that I need new shocks, but shocks alone can't destroy a tire like this..

 

It is obvious that your running to much negative camber on the rears. MFG specs are a bit more extreme than most of need on the street . Use a indy shop who will bring the rears to a more neutral camber . I did this on my 550I an am now getting 30K out of my michelins

 

That could've been noticed by the alignment shop, I guess he is not getting anymore business from me..

 

I agree that your alignment settings should be checked and adjusted by a "qualified" shop and tech familiar with BMWs. But that said, in 10 months, how many miles are on those tires and what kind of driver are you (conservative - aggressive etc)?

Trust you discovered that dangerous wear level early and weren't actually driving on those tires very long

 

I reckon it's the positive camber on your right foot.

 

Stupid question, but did they check the rear alignment, many shops do not realize that the rears can be adjusted and just do the front.

 

About 15k mostly highway miles mostly on the dry season few times drove after the snow was cleared in winter..
I do drive aggressive, but never do burnouts or any of these teenager things..

I got stuck on the road, driving back from Florida but luckily i bought a spare tire after getting rid of runflats..

 

How many miles? Tires don't wear by the passing of time, they wear by mileage. And max performance sport tires like PS2's are typically not going to last much ore than 12-15k miles, particularly under spirited driving. That said, it does seem like your wear pattern is a bit extreme.

 

They checked everything, and this shop all they do is wheel alignment its their bread and butter.

 

Its a BMW it made to be driven like that, don't you agree ? besides as soon as i sit in the car all of the sudden i'm in a hurry..lol
