+1. Also, because they are the oldest E60s, they are the cheapest right now for used car buyers like myself.

My Ride: Mini Cooper
in HK I see alot of 04 2nd hand cars now on sale.
maybe people are scared that the car will brack down after 3 to 4 years and need alot of money on repair lol
this is why I will try and keep my car for at lest 7 years just before the MOT come

I have been buying cars on the Wholesale market and for a 5 years now and have been followed a trend for bmw's since they introduce and continue to have maintenance and warranty. The average 5 series driver will keep the car for 3-4 years which corresponds to
a) the warranty/maintenence coverage by BMW,
b) Std leases (price at which the average person will accept)
c) In the time frame in which the same model to either come out with a newer version or have new "must have" or "want" features added to the car which were not previously available.
d) The driver may refine which features, upgrade the engine he/she really wanted but did not know.
All of these items help persuade the person to setup to a new car.
The trade in value will usually be hire for cars that still have their warranty intact which will allow the dealership to then "Certify as a Pre-Owned" vehicle. The dealers make a nice profit for selling cars as CPO plus they have the ability to push the extended Maintenance. So both parties win.
Also BMW has been throwing an excellent 2.9% to 3.9% financing w/ 1-2 payments made by BMW on 2004 models. This allows a person to get into the 5 series much easier and also cover 1/2 the price of the CPO and Maintenance if added. So the 2004 looks very attractive.
These are just my .02 and
