sorry to say but ..I don't think it is accurate tool as it is giving me an incorrect Car Type (a 530dx instead of a 550) and an incorrect production date.....an unknown type of transmission ..than what I have

Is everyone else is getting accurate data out of this de-coder...? I am a bit puzzled and also curious...

[may be I have been driving around in a 2 year old 530dx with a Maunal transmission and don't know that...hmmmm?]

I can't even get it to work. Never mind whether it's accurate.

It complains about me using anonymous proxy servers.

Yup. Its also complaining that I'm using an anonymouse proxy server... hmm... anyone else have a better VIN decoder?

Although I don't really see what the big deal is about that website where you put in your VIN.......mine was correct. Build date can also be found on the inside door jam on the driver's side.
