Ah too bad.. the highest normal gas I can get here in CA is the "minimum" requirement for the car so I cant do any better... Although I would run 93 if i can... going a little higher than recommnded is ok!!!! Just not 110 octane leded racing gasoline...
Not scientific fact BUT a group of E39 M5s I use to run with put in a tank of 100 octane AKI unleded racing fuel and they all swear it felt faster, better response and so forth and we all know the minimum requirement for a E39 M5 isnt 100 octane gasoline... so why does it feel faster? All in between the ears? All 7 cars that got it? *shrugs*
Anyways... notice it says 91 AKI octane "MINIMUM" and not 91 "ONLY..."

Like I said in my previous post, one has only to open their gas tank cover and you'll see BMW state that 91 octane (US) should be used as the 'minimum'. However, I vaguely recall that 10 years ago (or was it more?), here in South Cali we had 92-93 octane at every pump. I would rather have that over 91.

Yes, we used to have 92 and some gas station has 93. I don't know why they change it down to 91. I'm sure it's not for emission purpose, but it's for cost saving and higher profit.
